形態特徵

• Erect herbs to 1.5 m tall, sparingly pubescent with short, simple hairs.
• Leaves simple, subentire, ovate, 7–40 cm long, apex acuminate, base obtuse or acuminate, narrowed into petiole, membranaceous, glabrate.
• Inflorescences few-flowered axillary fascicles; peduncle wanting; pedicels 5 mm long. Calyx 2.5–3 mm long, glabrous, cupular, apically truncate, with five minute points, not splitting; corolla yellow waxy or shiny, glabrous outside, broadly campanulate, 3–6 mm long, 6 mm across, lobed 1/4 length, lobes recurved; filaments 2.5 mm long, each with 2 teeth or umbos just above point of insertion, adnate to corolla tube a short distance above insertion; anthers deltoid-oblong, pale yellow, 1 mm long; ovary glabrous.
• Berry subglobose or ellipsoid, red, shiny, juicy; calyx not accrescent; seeds pale yellow, discoid, finely honeycombed, 1.7 mm across.

分布

• 台灣 : forest or plantation margins, forest gaps, rocky creek banks and shady seaside places, from 0 to 2,000 m, common.
• 世界 : Indonesia, Japan including the Ryukyu Islands, Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, and southern China.
